Christmas 2010

Originally we thought we would spend Thanksgiving and Christmas at home this year.  It takes a lot of work to get everything packed and drive up to VA.  When the babies were smaller we wouldn’t even get there until 2-3 in the morning, but this trip I decided to we needed to be better prepared and leave earlier.  So I set up a time we HAD to leave by and even though Andy snorted at my time and didn’t think we would make it at 7:05 we were pulling out of the driveway on our way.  YAY!  So we were able to get there at a more reasonable hour and not like zombies after some sleep.

The day we arrived our third tire in a week had to be replaced on our van.  Thankfully Andy got it taken care of Monday when all the stores reopened.

One of my favorite things is catching up with friends while in VA, and two of our most favorite families to see the Days and the Wilsons.

We were able to catch up with Aunt Ri, Uncle Max, and the kiddos future partner in crime Atticus.  Open-mouthed smile  We do so love them and I wish we had been able to spend more time together.  Maybe when we retire!

Then the next day Mrs. Day and Anna came by to visit.  Mrs. Day reminds me of the sun.  So much energy and you can’t be in her presence without feeling a warm glow of happiness.  We love the Day family so very much and hope to see the whole family next time we’re up in VA.

Thank you to Uncle Ben for making us a delicious breakfast Christmas morning, and playing with us!  Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for getting the babies up every morning while we slept, and for helping us keep the babies entertained and fed.  We had a great time and can’t wait for our next visit.  OOOOK not really, but that’s because of Carolyn on the trip home.

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
