Carolyn

C-Biscuit.  The beast.  Carolyn is still Carolyn.  Being cute as can be, and bad as can be all at the same time.  If she cries and you tell her to come to you she will run with her arms open wide and collapse on you with a hug.  She does things she shouldn’t and when she gets in trouble she throws a fit and sometimes pulls her own hair.  I don’t really understand this…one would think she would want to pull mine, but she pulls her own.  She gets in less trouble this way, and I don’t have to worry about wigs.  There hasn’t been any change to her except she is going up stairs faster, and still eating really well only just not gaining weight as fast.  So we’re going to try her on some pediasure, and hope it helps her gain some weight.  Today she only wanted to swing at the playground.  When I took her out to play some place else she cried until I showed her we were going to go play in the grass with everyone else.  Then she took off to catch up.  Towards the end of the day Andy started sitting them in a tree, but Carolyn was the only one that really enjoyed it.  Maybe something about being the smallest of the group. Winking smile

Alexis

Alexis now shares!  YAY!  She will take something from someone and when you say “Alexis…give it back.”  She will hand whatever she stole back to the person she took it from.  She also will walk over and close the dresser drawer that Maxwell now knows how to open.  If she is standing there when he opens it I can tell her to close it and she will.  She says hi while tipping her head to the side and drawing out the word.  It’s usually “HHIIIIIIIII” while tilting her head from side to side.  Very cute.  She has taken control of a certain shopping cart my sister sent over the weekend and will take it from whoever is playing with it.  Usually Carolyn, and it’s a bit harder to get her to give it back.  If someone steals her stuff she just stands there and screams.  She also said TE and points when she wants either her paci or Cattie.  I think she plans on calling Cattie  paci or vice versa because she will continue saying it for whatever item she doesn’t have.

Maxwell

Maxwell is still a ham, and I don’t think he’ll ever grow out of it.  At least that is my hope…that he forever keeps his silly side.  He’s doing very well and is eating better.  At least I think so.  Part of it is that when he is throwing food ESPECIALLY meat on the floor chances are he will eat it if he has something on it.  Usually I put bbq sauce on it, and he gobbles it up.  YUMMY!  He gets that from Andy.  He’s been waking up in a really good mood lately, but still doesn’t want Andy getting him out of the crib and changing him if I am in the room.  He’ll wait for me to finish whatever I’m doing to get him.  He’s getting better I think, but still a Momma’s boy.  I don’t mind him being a Momma’s boy.  Some days it is hard when you can’t walk away for more than a second without screaming though.  He’s gotten to where he will dance a little bit then crack up laughing for a little bit.  Then he dances and laughs again.  It is very cute to watch, and if you’re not paying attention he MAY bite you.  He was dancing the other day and came over to hug me, or at least I thought, and then suddenly there was pain.  So we’re working on biting again because the next day he bit Andy as well.  We’ve gone months without being bitten by anyone, and then someone starts to bite.

Aiden

My little bubby.  Andy asked me the other day if we could nickname Aiden “Bubba” uh no, but thank you for asking.  I do from time to time call him “Bubby”  I don’t know why, but it’s usually when he’s crying.  Crying…not screaming.  The boy can scream.  Like seriously crazy loud.  I have videos of it, but I feel bad uploading them because unsuspecting people may have their volume up.  LOL Then you’d hear it like you’re in our house, but I figure that’s something special only to be heard one on one.

Not a lot has changed since the last update.  Aiden is still the fastest up the stairs, and is still afraid of water when you wash his hair.  He plays in it all day long, but when you start to wash his hair he freaks.  He loves to have the second shower head spray on him though as a game.  I’ve been told he can say all of the names of the ladies at daycare, but when I ask him to say it he just looks at me like I’m crazy.  One day he is going to tell me to get his food and stop harassing him I just know it.  Andy taught him the Home Improvement male laugh thing and he was doing it today at lunch.  He is still knocking people over to get past them, and stealing Alexis’ pacifiers.  He doesn’t do time out well because he just sits there and then tries to get back to the action.  Earlier this week while on a choo choo ride he threw himself forward laughing and bloodied his nose.  It was kind of crazy to see blood running down his face.  I just took him home and washed him up and we rejoined the choo choo ride a few minutes later.  He is such a sweet lil guy and a very loud one too.  He doesn’t understand sharing yet.  SO far all he knows is what's mine is mine and what’s theirs is mine too.  Kind of hard to get him to understand he can’t just take whatever he wants.  We’re working on it though.

Whatevs It’s An Update

I say all the time it’s been so long…I’m super busy…blah blah blah.  Point of the matter is blogging isn’t my most important thing in life right now.  There are TONS of quad mommas that are SAHMs and working moms that blog constantly.  SO I have time…I know I do.  I just don’t blog.  I think about it a lot especially while I’m eating peanut butter M&Ms in bed.  I think I should blog.  I really should blog because Aunt Martz hasn’t seen an update on the blog in forever.  I NEED TO BLOG.

So here I am.  Updating more than just a line of status message on Facebook.  What is sad is I haven’t really taken that many pictures lately.  I’ve been really just wanting to soak in the happiness that I feel when I’m at home with my kiddos.  I just want to spend time with them and enjoy every second, and not get frustrated because so and so isn’t looking at the camera.  I’d rather just make them giggle and have someone else take the pictures.    So the last time I took pictures was on the 9th and then I took some snap shots when we got our new playhouse.  So I do have pictures! Smile

Aiden

Aiden is walking like a pro now…ok not exactly.  He waddles more than the rest, but our new PT sent an email with what we should be working on at home with him.  He is doing really really well though and even does a fast walk now that is almost a run.  He is still stealing pacifiers, but has learned how to give them back.  He has only given them back a few times.  Usually he takes off as fast as he can while Alexis screams.  Aiden’s health has been pretty good.  He had some hard coughing spells earlier in the month, but has been doing much better.  We really have to stay on him with his reflux meds when he doesn’t want to drink them we just keep insisting that he drink it instead of throwing it down.  He’s all about the walk by hugs and then he needs to be on his way into something again.  He is also still all about the screams.  I’m not sure how to get this to stop.  It’s a game, but not a very fun one for momma & daddy because there is enough noise without the ear piercing squeals.  He is still doing his kissy face and breathing crazy while he does it.  Cracks me up.  He doesn’t like to share though when he gets a lap he wants it to be his and not have to worry about anyone else.  This causes a problem when Max gets jealous that Aiden is sitting with me….because then we have two boys in my lap trying to take each other out.

Maxwell

Max is my night cuddler.  He will come sit with me every night for a little bit before bed.  He doesn’t need to be entertained or anything he just needs to sit in my lap.  He also would rather I sit next to him when he drinks his last bottle of the night.  Momma’s Boy.  Yesterday he was pushing a toy lion we have and Andy started touching it to help him move it around everyone and he started fussing.  Andy thought it was because he was frustrated that he couldn’t get it around everyone I guess, but I could see the problem wasn’t everyone else.  It was Andy.  Andy touching the lion.  I told Andy why Max was fussing and Andy thought it would be fun to pick on him a little big and that’s when Max came over and raised both hands and started hitting Andy.  Andy got attacked by a 17 month old child for touching a toy lion.  It still makes me laugh.  Max likes things the way he likes them and doesn’t want anyone taking his stuff.  One day we tried to introduce bowls.  Yes bowls people….with mac and cheese in them.  I tried to show Max it was ok to eat it and I ate A noodle and he lost his mind.  I just walked away and let him have his moment.  Everyone else ended up breaking down over the bowls too.  Except Carolyn.

Alexis

The climber.  The crackhead.  Alexis went to the ER last week because she thought the game “Is Momma fast enough?” would be big fun.  Momma wasn’t fast enough and Alexis fell head face first onto the hardwood floor from the arm of the couch.  Luckily she was leaning over so the fall was a shorter distance, but she was still left with a bump and didn’t want to be put down for a while.  She is fine, and still trying to climb on the couch.  Alexis also climbs on top of the music tables we have from leapfrog and stands there.  She also will climb on the back of the lion and stand.  She enjoys the look of pure terror on our faces when she is perched some place she shouldn’t be.  Like the time she was standing on the arm of the couch leaning over like she was going to jump over the gate into the kitchen.  Sometimes you can distract her, but usually not.  When she is about to do something that will causes screaming or injure her I say “Alexis…where is Cattie?” and she goes into full search and rescue mode.  Once I made the mistake of doing it at night when everyone was calm and Cattie was in the crib where Alexis couldn’t get to her so she hung on the crib screaming until I got Cattie.

Carolyn

C-Biscuit is currently on her 4th ear infection since November.  It’s getting pretty ridiculous so she is going back to the doctor tomorrow to talk about options.  Hopefully we will get in to see an ENT soon.  Carolyn is still the most nervous of the 4, and also the likely to try and climb on things.  Recipe for disaster, and let me tell you why.  Carolyn is climbing on something or has climbed on something when along comes Alexis and pulls Carolyn off whatever she is on or pushes her off.  Carolyn falls and screaming happens.  Not to mention the fact that she gets stuck some place and screams for assistance to get down.  They are not to be left alone for any period of time in the living room because someone will find some way to climb on something and get injured just because you had to go to the bathroom for a record setting 14 seconds.  C-Biscuit knows no strangers and wants to visit with everyone when she is at the doctors office.  She is my teeny tiny little that just keeps being bad, but no one remembers the bad because she is too adorable.  She also eats playdough.

I found an ad on Craigslist for a slide and playhouse for sale.  50 each or 75 for both so I had Andy go pick them up.  It was an awesome deal and Aunt Misty sent us a slide for Christmas that they all fight over so hopefully having two slides will help  there be less screaming.

Everyone really enjoyed playing in the snow.  We didn’t have real mittens so we used socks, but they got soaked fairly quickly so we took everyone inside after about 5-10 minutes outside.

Ear Infections And Teething

The babies had runny noses the entire time we were in VA, but the real fun was when we drove home Tuesday night.  Carolyn Carolyn Carolyn…screamed for about 5 hours of the 6 hour drive.  I don’t mean a cry here and there I mean she screamed and screamed and screamed.  When I took her to the doctor the next day she had an ear infection.  Then that night and the next night she continued to scream.  So I took her to urgent care and the sent me home with an Rx of Tylenol 3.  What the heck?  Who gives T3 for an ear infection???  We weren’t going to fill it at first because we didn’t feel comfortable giving it to her, but after talking to a friend of my sister’s we decided to go ahead and give it to her.  Basically it was so she could rest.  Instead of doing the full dose we did 1/2 the dose when we made it home, and 1/2 the dose 6 hours later.  She slept that afternoon and night better than she had since Monday night!  She woke up Friday feeling so much better, but she passed the ball to Maxwell and he woke up feeling not so great.  Then Sunday he had a fever so it was off to the doctor he went today.  He has an ear infection, but he is at least feeling good and wasn’t crying a lot until he got tired.

Alexis is being her normal rock star self and isn’t sick except for her runny nose.

Aiden has been crying a lot lately because he has molars coming in.  He usually is very content unless someone steals his stuff or we aren’t piling the food up in front of him fast enough.  Not the last few days.  He has been crying for every single possible reason.

We are ready for the sickness to be gone.

Christmas 2010

Originally we thought we would spend Thanksgiving and Christmas at home this year.  It takes a lot of work to get everything packed and drive up to VA.  When the babies were smaller we wouldn’t even get there until 2-3 in the morning, but this trip I decided to we needed to be better prepared and leave earlier.  So I set up a time we HAD to leave by and even though Andy snorted at my time and didn’t think we would make it at 7:05 we were pulling out of the driveway on our way.  YAY!  So we were able to get there at a more reasonable hour and not like zombies after some sleep.

Aiden playing peek-a-boo!

The day we arrived our third tire in a week had to be replaced on our van.  Thankfully Andy got it taken care of Monday when all the stores reopened.

One of my favorite things is catching up with friends while in VA, and two of our most favorite families to see the Days and the Wilsons.

We were able to catch up with Aunt Ri, Uncle Max, and the kiddos future partner in crime Atticus.  Open-mouthed smile  We do so love them and I wish we had been able to spend more time together.  Maybe when we retire!

Then the next day Mrs. Day and Anna came by to visit.  Mrs. Day reminds me of the sun.  So much energy and you can’t be in her presence without feeling a warm glow of happiness.  We love the Day family so very much and hope to see the whole family next time we’re up in VA.

Thank you to Uncle Ben for making us a delicious breakfast Christmas morning, and playing with us!  Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for getting the babies up every morning while we slept, and for helping us keep the babies entertained and fed.  We had a great time and can’t wait for our next visit.  OOOOK not really, but that’s because of Carolyn on the trip home.

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Christmas Photo Picture

We tried many times to get a family photo with the babies, and then we tried to just take pictures of the babies.  We tried and tried and tried.  We were left with a ton of pictures and all of them crazy.

Our final acceptable picture that made it onto our Christmas card.  If you didn’t receive a card don’t worry it’s not personal…we haven’t sent them out yet.  HAHAHAHAHA!  We will send them out though!
